TD Transit – Driver App · Last updated: October 3, 2026
1Overview
TD Transit ("we," "our," or "us") operates the TD Transit - Driver mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. The App is intended solely for use by authorized TD Transit drivers and is not available to the general public.
2Information We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and CDL details provided during account setup by TD Transit staff.
- Location data: GPS coordinates are collected while the App is in use to verify shipper/receiver check-ins and provide live location updates to dispatch during active loads. Location is not tracked when the App is closed.
- Photos and documents: Images captured through the App (temperature gauges, Bills of Lading, Proof of Delivery, etc.) are uploaded to secure cloud storage and associated with the relevant load record.
- Usage data: Load status updates, odometer readings, detention logs, driver notes, and messages sent through the App.
- Device information: Push notification tokens used to deliver dispatch alerts to your device.
3How We Use Your Information
- To assign, track, and manage freight loads.
- To verify driver check-ins at pickup and delivery locations.
- To facilitate communication between drivers and dispatch.
- To calculate and process driver pay and settlements.
- To maintain compliance records (CDL expiry, medical card, HOS).
- To send push notifications for load assignments and dispatch messages.
4Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use Supabase for secure data storage and Expo for app delivery. These providers process data solely on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Equipment owners: The equipment owner you drive for, or the owner paid for a load, can see that load’s details and the Bills of Lading and Proof of Delivery uploaded for it, and the CDL and medical card copies on file for drivers who drive for them.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
5Data Retention
Load records and associated documents are retained for a minimum of 3 years to meet federal motor carrier record-keeping requirements. Account data is retained for the duration of your employment and deleted upon written request after termination.
6Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in encrypted databases. Access to driver data is restricted to authorized TD Transit personnel and, for the records described in Section 4, the equipment owner they relate to. We regularly review our security practices to protect your information.
7Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the address below. Requests will be processed within 30 days.
8Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
